ABOUT
Gillian Lynn Katz was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and moved to the United States as a teenager in the mid-1960’s. She has a Master of Arts in Writing from Manhattanville College. Her thesis "Witness To the Birth and Death of My Country" a collection of poetry, essays and fiction is available on her website: gillianlynnkatz.net., and Amazon.com. Each piece in that book has been published in magazines: Inkwell, AIM, Copperfield Review, Struggle, Nostalgically, Tickled By Thunder, and the Westchester Gannett newspapers. She has also published poetry in various journals. For thirteen years Ms. Katz taught Creative Writing and Poetry to teenagers every
summer at the JCC of Mid-Westchester in Scarsdale, NY. For four years she taught Jewish Literature and Creative Writing at the Beth El Hebrew High School in New Rochelle, NY.
She also holds local talks and readings on growing up during the apartheid era in South Africa.
She lives in Scarsdale, NY with her husband and two daughters.
